2 Hauben, 13,5/20 points: “The Reinisch brothers not only run one of the best wineries in the Thermenregion – since young Thomas Reinisch took over the kitchen, a visit to their restaurant has also become highly recommended. The menu ranges from hearty, traditional Austrian fare to an ambitious six-course “Chef’s Choice” menu, which – with its seasonal focus – showcases the chef’s creativity. For example, a successful combination of baked blood sausage, Arctic char, and horseradish. The sensational crackling dumplings with bacon-braised cabbage deserve special mention: a simple delight, brimming with crispy roasted and perfectly seasoned cracklings, that is second to none. The estate’s outstanding Burgundian wines prove to be the perfect accompaniments to this culinary masterpiece.”
