The Gumpoldskirchen terroir
Ried Satzing (on the map 1)
Four hectares planted to Rotgipfler. Deep, weathered soil with a great deal of fossil limestone. The site faces south and borders on the Vienna Woods.
Ried Spiegel (2)
Two and a half hectares at an elevation of 260–320m. Limestone-rich, deep soil in the lower portion with very good humus & nutrient supply, meagre soil in the upper end. Zierfandler & Rotgipfler. This exceptional vineyard is one of the richest in tradition in the entire region, and has been cultivated by us since 2006.
Ried Kästenbaum (3)
At an elevation of about 450m at Mt Anninger, on a plateau above the limestone quarry. Pinot Noir; in the future also Chardonnay & Rotgipfler. Limestone-rich, deep soil with high iron & clay content.
