St. Laurent is offered by Johanneshof Reinisch in different maturation styles. Grapes from the vineyards in Tattendorf are stored in big wooden barrels to bring out the variety-typical fruitiness as best as possible.
The Frauenfeld vineyard, with its stony-rich soil, is one of the best sites in the world for St. Laurent and delivers complex, elegant wines from grapevines at least 35 years old. After they are fermented, the wines rest for approximately 16 months in small wooden barrels made from French, Croatian and Austrian oak.
The Holzspur vineyard was predestined for Burgundy grapevines, thanks to its calcareous alluvial soils. The grapes ripen on vines nearly 60 years old to define a uniquely expressive wine. Following fermentation in wooden fermentation tanks, the St. Laurent Holzspur matures for at least 20 months in small barrels. Then, after 12 more months of maturing in bottles, the wine is released for sale.
